The castle was built on a rock mightily standing above the Vltava river to protect the business path leading from Austria to Prague and the rest of Europe.
A Tour of the Old Town will explain to you the mysterious history of this place with its individual stories. After enjoying views of the city and losing yourself in the maze of picturesque houses and streets with shops of local products, you can visit Egon Schiele gallery (former brewery) and enjoy lunch in a medieval tavern on the Vltava river bank. On the way you can stop at magical Hluboka chateau (optional) and original Budweiser Budvar brewery visitors’ centre, taste the beer and see the historical square of Ceske Budejovice (optional). After these stops you continue next 3h to Vienna with comfortable transfer.
